BREAKING NEWS: Man charged with raping girl (12)
A HUCKNALL man has appeared in court charged with raping a 12-year-old girl.
Ryan Cooper (20), of Watnall Road, is alleged to have committed the offence in Kimberley on Wednesday October 23 last year.
The victim, who is from Ilkeston in Derbyshire, reported being attacked on Maws Lane, which is a short distance from the junction with Lawn Mill Road.
The rape is alleged to have happened at 10.30 pm.
At the time, police revealed that the girl had gone to Kimberley with a friend to meet other friends but had become separated.
Cooper has been released on bail and is scheduled to appear at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday April 27.
