Businesses boost Beau Beau’s appeal

KIND-HEARTED supporters of Hucknall’s Beau Angelides received a visit of thanks from the special two year-old at the weekend.

Staff and members of Watnall Road based gym, the Muscle Factory, gathered on Saturdayto say hello to the plucky youngster who is living with a terminal illness.

Beau’s mum Lindsey Pascoe wanted to thank the gym for their support in raising money towards Beau Beau’s Fund in the past and their continued support.

“We really are amazed by the help and support we have received and continue to receive from businesses and individuals across the town,” said Lindsey who lives on Annesley Road and also has two young daughters.

“Beau’s health is deteriorating quite quickly which brings new challenges. He is waiting for an operation to fix a permanent feeding button into his stomach but because of his other health concerns, including his heart, there are three consultants liaising over treatment.”

Beau suffers from a rare and aggressive condition called Sanfillipo Disease. This has led to deteriorating vision and hearing and mobility problems. He needs specialist equipment and aids to make his life more comfortable.

Fundraising has helped pay for the increasing costs and as Beau’s health deteriorates, his needs become more complex.

“We are hoping to get a special cocoon bed for Beau to ensure his safety and comfort,” explained Lindsey. “He has also been introduced to a special working dog which is trained to recognize seizures.

“I’m hoping a Beau could benefit from a dog like this too.”

Hucknall’s Specsavers store also helped by raising over £100 at a book sale.

“Because Beau has lost his sight we thought it was fitting to help raise money for his appeal,” said store manager, Leanne Vernon-Mead. “They are a lovely family and it was great to meet them.”
