COUPLE LEFT SICK AS A PARROT BY LOSS OF BELOVED PET OZZY

A HEARTBROKEN Hucknall couple have made a passionate plea for help after their prized pet parrot went missing.

Carol and Terry Holmes, of Rockside Gardens, have not seen or heard anything of Ozzy since he disappeared on Monday October 13.

Ozzy is an African grey who has been their pet for six years.

Carol was taking Ozzy to a centre in Chilwell that cares for pets while their owners are away – two days before the couple were due to fly to Kenya.

But as she was putting Ozzy into her car, the door on the box being used to carry him came open and he flew away.

Carol and Terry frantically searched round the Beauvale Estate for their pet but could not find him anywhere.

While they were in Kenya, the couple left the search for Ozzy in the hands of family and friends. But when they returned last Friday, Ozzy was still missing.

A tearful Carol said: “We just want to know he is safe. If someone has him we would ask them to ring us and let us know.

“We would not even expect whoever has him to give him back. We would love to have him back because we have had him from when he was a baby, but we just want to know he is OK.”

Ozzy is described as a mixture of light and dark grey with red tail feathers.

He is a very talkative bird and says things like “hello”, “can I come out?” and “Wendy Woo”. He can also say his own name, wolf whistle and mimic the ringing tone of Carol and Terry’s house phone.

If you have seen Ozzy, ring Carol and Terry on 0115 9529315.
