Easy and tasty pancake recipe from the Forest Lodge Hotel’s head chef
Today is Shrove Tuesday but it is more commonly known as Pancake Day.
Its origins come from the Christian faith as Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent starts: the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday.
It’s a day of celebration as the last chance to feast before Lent begins.
But there’s more to Shrove Tuesday than pigging out on pancakes or taking part in a public pancake race. The pancakes themselves are part of an ancient custom with deeply religious roots.
Our friends at Edwinstowe based Forest Lodge Hotel have shared their easy pancake recipe with us to share with our readers.
