Free one hour parking in Ashfield District Council car parks during January

SHOPPERS are being given a New Year treat by parking officials at Ashfield District Council with one hour free parking across the region during January.

Motorists visiting Hucknall, Sutton or Kirkby will be allowed to park for one hour free of charge in any Ashfield Council car parks.

“It is hoped this initiative will help boost the number of people visiting the area post-Christmas,” said a council spokesman. “This is the first time we have given residents this option and we hope they will take advantage of the free hour and enjoy the facilities on offer across the district.”

All council-run car parks are included in the initiative. There will be signs at each location highlighting the offer and explaining the details.

Motorists are being warned though to follow the instructions and make sure they display a ticket. If parking for more than one hour, the free hour will not apply and the full amount must be paid.
