Gang robs boy of his BMX bike
A GANG punched and mugged a young boy before stealing his BMX bike in an horrific attack in Hucknall during the run-up to Christmas.
Police say the 14-year-old was riding along Broomhill Road on his Mongoose BMX when he was approached by the group of six teenage youths.
He was attacked near the junction with Brookside between 2.15 pm and 2.30 pm on Saturday December 3.
One of the gang is thought to have punched him in the stomach, knocking the boy from the bike.
The main attacker is then said to have fled the scene on the bike into nearby Titchfield Park.
Members of the gang were aged between 14 and 16. The victim described his main attacker as having stitches under his right eye.
Insp Hayley Williams said: “The offender in this case is quite distinctive in that he had some newly-applied stitches to his right eye.
“If anyone recalls someone matching this description in the weeks leading up to Christmas, please get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information should ring Hucknall CID by calling the non-emergency police number, 101 (extension 8044737).
Alternatively, call the free and confidential Crimestoppers hotline on 0800 555111.
Police would also like to hear if anyone has been offered the chance to buy a Mongoose BMX bike, perhaps as a Christmas present..
