Heart-warming fitness sessions

PEOPLE who have suffered heart-related illnesses are invited to attend 'Heartbeat' fitness sessions on Bulwell Hall Estate.

These are held at the Healthy Living Centre on Lawton Drive on the first and third Monday of each month between 10 am and 11.15 am.

The sessions comprise a heart/cardiac support group and exercise class, owing much to commitment and encouragement from community heart nurse Jacqui Radford and fitness trainer Nigel Hemming.

Nigel, representing the YMCA exercise referral scheme, conducts a gentle exercise and fitness programme, after which Jacqui, in collaboration with Ken Andrews. runs a social get-together up to 12.30 pm.

The social group, made up of cardiac sufferers, meets to share fun and friendship as well as to obtain advice, information and health checks and to hear guest speakers.

Anyone interested in joining the group should contact Ken Andrews on 0115 9192374.
