Hucknall residents given advice on how to make food go further

HOUSEHOLDERS living in Hucknall are being urged to make their leftovers go further as part of Nottinghamshire County Council’s Love Food, Hate Waste campaign.

The council has published a series of online recipes, some of which include sausage risotto, Spanish potato tortilla and lamb salad on potato cakes.

It comes in the wake of a report, published by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, which says that as much as half of the food that Britons buy from supermarkets goes to waste, despite much of it still being edible.

For more ideas visit www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk and search for ‘love food hate waste’.
