Hucknall’s Take 5 Theatre School of Dancing in fund-raising Dance-a-thon at the Old Town Hall

ENERGETIC pupils at Take 5 Theatre School of Dancing will be bopping non-stop on Sunday to raise vital funds for the renovation of their spacious new studio.

Run for the past 15 years by Amanda Hart, the popular 200-strong dance school is re-locating to the former Bulwell Library, which needs an ambitious £20,000 facelift before it can hear the tap, tap, tap of dancing feet.

It is hoped the dance-a-thon - which starts at 9am and continues for 8 action-packed hours at the Old Town Hall, Highbury Rd, Bulwell - will raise enough money for the first stage of the restoration to begin.

Amanda said: “Everyone taking part will have to do the same dance for a whole hour, then hour two will be another dance for a whole hour, and so on. We’re all really excited and hope the local community will support us as we sweat!”

Dancers will be jumping and jiving to high-energy party favourites Chocolatte, Steps’ 5678, Night Fever, PSY’s Gangnam style, The Birdie song, Shake Your Tail Feather, the Ketchup Song and Grease Lighting.

“We need to raise around £20,000 for the total renovation work,” said Amanda. “Everyone taking part is asking as many people as they can for sponsorship, so fingers crossed we’ll be able to raise a really good amount.”

If you’d like to support the Take 5 dance-a-thon, please pop in on the day and donate. Alternatively, you can email Amanda Hart at take5-tsd@live.co.uk or call 07746 854436.
