Leen Mills Primary School will not create more traffic, according to council chiefs

A PROPOSED extra classroom at Leen Mills Primary School, Hucknall, is not expected to create more traffic problems on the site, says Notts County Council.

At a meeting of Hucknall Area Committee, councillors for the town voiced concern that the new classroom was likely to mean more cars converging on Leen Mills when parents drove their children to the school, increasing a danger of accidents.

But the county council children, families and cultural services director, John True, said the classroom was to accommodate pupils already coming through from the new nearby Papplewick Green housing development.

He added: “The school is already accommodating some of these additional pupils, so we don’t foresee any real increase in traffic as a result.

“This is not an application by the school to pemanently expand the number of children on its roll.”
