Methodist Church celebrate 50 years

HUCKNALL’S Central Methodist Church is launching its 50th anniversary celebrations this weekend.

The Baker Street church will be hosting a series of events tomorrow, Saturday March 2 and Sunday 3 to commemorate the event.

It marks the amalgamation of the old Wesleyan and Bourne Primitive chapels on Watnall Road, Papplewick Chapel on Papplewick Lane, and the Trinity Church on Baker Street.

A free historical exhibition will be on display at the Central Methodist over the weekend from 10am-3pm organised by Maureen Newton of Hucknall Heritage Society and will contain many photographs and memorabilia.
