Owner of missing bird left sick as parrot
A SORROWFUL Bulwell couple are anxious to be reunited with their escaped pet parrot.
The African grey bird, belonging to Bill and Pat Matthews, of St Albans Road, has been missing since Saturday February 28.
They call the parrot Minty in honour of a character in the BBC1 TV soap, 'EastEnders.'
Bill (69) said Minty got out of their house when the lounge door was not properly closed. He added: "I saw him sitting on a canopy but he flew off before I could reach him."
Minty formerly belonged to Bill and Pat's daughter and they are offering a substantial reward for the return of the parrot. "We miss him very much," said Bill.
The bird can talk and shouts names. He also comes out with such phrases as "have you got a grape?"
Anyone knowing of Minty's whereabouts is asked to contact Bill and Pat by phoning 0115 9131829 or 07517 607 401.
