Radio Bulwell moves a step closer

A PLAN for Bulwell to have its own radio station is gathering momentum.

"A lot of people are showing a keen interest in the project," said Sue Thomas, a neighbourhood volunteer activist with Bulwell Vision regeneration group.

A steering group has been formed to promote the idea of the radio station, which would cover the whole of Bulwell as well as Rise Park and Top Valley.

The station would at first broadcast on the Internet 24 hours a day under two restricted service licences (RSLs) of up to 28 days, twice a year.

Sue said that some local people had already given interviews to be used during the pilot broadcast.

A further meeting about the project is to be held at the Red Lion Community Centre in Bulwell's Coventry Road on Wednesday April 1 at 6 pm. Anyone interested is welcome.
