Take part in next Bulwell Health and Well being community event 2013

COMMUNITY groups from across the Bulwell area are being invited to take part in the Bulwell Health and WellBeing Activity Week.

The programme of events are set to take place during half-term week February 18-23 but a planning meeting is organised for later this month.

On Monday January 28 at 2pm at Henry Mellish Sports Centre, organisations, groups and individuals who want to take part is invited to come along in order to say what they can offer.

If you can’t make the planning meeting, interested parties can send their details and outline of their involvement and a logo to organisers for inclusion in marketing material.

This is the third year in a 10 year programme by Bulwell Forest Action Group and its partners to help improve the health and well-being of Nottingham city residents.

The idea behind the Decade of Better Health Programme is to help increase physical activity of residents, achieve healthy weight, reduce smoking and alcohol consumption and overall feel better and achieve improved mental health.

Several activity groups have been established including a walking group, fitness group, which meet every Wednesday from 10-11 at Henry Mellish Sports Centre, a bowls club, netball team and a cafe for young people at Bulwell Reformed Church.

Future plans for the spring include family walks, evening walks and cycle rides.
