Veteran artist Hedley stages his annual exhibition
THE annual exhibition of paintings by acclaimed Hucknall artist Hedley Carrington has started.
The event is taking place at the Nottingham Society of Artists' (NSA) Trust gallery on Friar Lane, Nottingham and continues until Sunday November 8 from 10 am to 4.30 pm each day.
Hedley exhibits in many parts of the country and has travelled countless miles to paint commissions.
The winner of various awards, he continues to give charity demonstrations and staged a full-day workshop at Hucknall's Holgate Comprehensive School this year.
More than 100 paintings by Hedley and friends of his in the NSA will be on view at the exhibition, including scenes of Nottingham, Dorset and North Yorkshire.
The artists represented will include Paula Hodgkinson, this year's recipient of the NSA Holbrook Trust Award, which Hedley has also previously won.
A special feature will be a display of photos showing the former Hucknall and Linby Collieries, to be staged by Pete Stevenson, of Hucknall, who is a retired print layout manager.
On view will be photos of actors dressed as miners for filming of a production of D.H.Lawrence's novel, 'The Rainbow'.
Any proceeds from sales by Hedley of paintings and art materials at the exhibition will go to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Anyone visiting the exhibition on Sunday can enjoy wine and nibbles.
