Visit by 'Holby City' star who has traded blows with Jackie Chan and Matt Damon

A MARTIAL artist who has traded blows with Jackie Chan and Matt Damon on the silver screen paid a visit to Hucknall.

Actor and kickboxing expert Scott Adkins was in town to teach some of the techniques he has used on movie sets, including one for his latest film, 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine', which stars Hugh Jackman and will be released next year.

Adkins was the special guest of the Hucknall PKA Kickboxing Club at their Hucknall Leisure Centre base.

The 32-year-old also taught some of the PKA students techniques to get more power into their punches and kicks.

He went on to talk about some of the movies he has been in, including 'The Bourne Supremacy', with Damon, and 'Accidental Spy', with Chan, although many will know him best for his role as Bradley Hume in the BBC TV hospital drama 'Holby City'.

It was the second time Adkins had visited the Hucknall club. He was invited by instructor Curt Banner, who took his black belt alongside Adkins.

Curt said: "I have known Scott for a number of years now. He no longer runs his own classes because of his movies commitment, so he really enjoys getting back to teaching.

"All the students who were there really appreciated the lessons and enjoyed talking to Scott. I am sure he will pay us a visit again in the future."
