Hucknall library is now able to deliver library books to the people within the Hucknall community who are unable to travel to the town’s facility.

Volunteers from the Royal Voluntary Service will be enabling the scheme to work by taking books out to housebound customers.

“We want to set up some new rounds to deliver to housebound people in the Hucknall area,” said library manager Sharon Wells. “The volunteers will take a selection of books or spoken word out to the customers’ homes and then collect them on a regular basis whilst bringing a new selection to choose from.”

This service is free and all volunteers have security checks so those using the service can feel secure.

If you would like to benefit from this new service or know someone who would, contact the library with their details and once the rounds have been set up the volunteers will start delivering to them. Call Hucknall library on 0115 9632035.
