A new coffee morning is being held in Hucknall by Age UK Notts Kindred Spirits.
The first event takes place at The Pilgrim Oak, in High Street, on Wednesday between 11am and 12.30pm.
Kindred Spirits is a membership programme with activities and events for older people to help them meet friends.
An Age UK spokesman said that for as little as 50p a week, Kindred Spirits members have access to a diary with more than 100 things to do in a month, including free and subsidised activities such as coffee mornings, exercises, walks, day trips, holidays, swimming, darts, bowling, theatre and more.
All these wide range of activities are done at members own pace in the company of new friends in Nottingham and Mansfield areas.
Kindred Spirits is one of a number of services offered by Age UK Notts, a registered charity for older people, to help those in later life who are experiencing some form of loneliness or social isolation through bereavement, retirement or a move to a new area. Coffee mornings at the Pilgrim Oak will be held on every second Wednesday of the month.
