BMX riders take part in 2014 Active Ashfield Xtreme Games

Talented BMX riders got to test their skills as part of the first 2014 Active Ashfield Xtreme Games competition on the new BMX track at the Nabbs Lane Park in Hucknall.

The event was organised by Ashfield District Council in partnership with the Mountain Bike Rock School.

The competition was part of a series of events across the district as part of the Active Ashfield Games.

Thirty-eight young competitors took to the track in a time lap competition. with medallists as follows:

Coun Chris Baron, leader of Ashfield District Council and Portfolio holder for events, said: “The day was extremely successful. It was great to see so many local people enjoying the event on this fantastic local track.

“The Active Ashfield Games is this year providing more opportunities for everyone to enjoy sport and healthy lifestyle activities.”
