Bulwell event aims to boost literacy levels

Do you want to help children realise that books are fun and that reading is something the youngsters should do?

If so, you will benefit from a two-session literacy volunteers’ course to be held in Bulwell.

The initiative will take place at Bulwell Riverside Library on 5th and 12th November from 10am to 1pm.

Training, support and travel expenses will be given for volunteers to become literacy volunteers at a local primary school.

Course spokeswoman Sue Marriott said: “We are asking people to give their time and commitment to show how reading can make a big difference to a child’s life. No experience is required.”

To take part in the course, you can contact Sue by phoning her on 01623 517553 or emailing her on sue@literacyvolunteers.org.uk More information can be obtained on the website, www.literacyvolunteers.org.uk
