Community is urged to step up to help out

Members of the community in Bulwell are being urged to step up and make a difference, however small or large, to the wellbeing of locals.

That’s the call from Bill Blackamore, from the Bulwell Forest Action Group, as the area prepares for the Bulwell Forest Week of Action, which takes place from September

13th to September 19th.

The week starts with the Fun on the Forest community event, which has stalls, bouncy castles, a climbing wall, fun bikes, craft activities and entertainment.

It takes place between 12noon and 4pm atBulwell Forest Recreation Ground between Hucknall Road and St Albans Road.

The week also features walks, ballet classes, events at the bowls club, the golf club and the Bulwell Forest Garden, plus many more.

Members of the community will be getting information sent through the post to keep them informed of what the week is about.

Mr Blackamore told the Dispatch: “There are a lot of good things happening in Bulwell, thanks to community action.

“The bowls club has about 100 members, the garden is a success and a Green Flag has been achieved.

“What we need is for people to help. Whether it’s just for an hour a week, they can make a real difference to the are in which they live.”
