Dinner lady says goodbye after 30 years

A long chapter in the history of Oak Tree Primary School has come to a close with the departure of much-loved dinner lady Carol Wood.

The caterer served for 30 years at the school, working hard to introduce new ideas a recipes and encourage children to try different meals.

Headteacher Sarah Moore said: “Providing a nutritious healthy lunch is an important part of school life and Carol has been an asset to the team here at Oak Tree Primary School.

“We are sorry to see her go but hope she enjoys her retirement and that she will come back to see us soon.”

Farewell gifts included a silver jewellery box and jewellery, a handbag, flowers, wine and a special, personalised glass.”
