Double delight for Hucknall slimmers

Two members of a WeightWatchers club that meets at the John Godber Centre in Hucknall have managed to lose more than 14 stones between them.

They are great friends and have something in common - oversized trousers!

Lynne Massey joined in May 2011 and was stunned and ashamed to find she weighed over 19 and a half stone.

She said: “No wonder as I went everywhere in the car and every night I’d sit down and eat a family sized bar of chocolate all by myself. I never shared.”

She followed the ProPoints plan and lost 4lbs in her first week and one stone in five weeks. Now nearly nine stones lighter, she is a size 12, cooks healthy family meals and walks everywhere.

Lorraine Rowland joined WeightWatchers in January 2011 and was gutted when she got on the scales at 15 stones 7lbs.

To start with, her losses were small but she knew she had to keep going, helped by the support she received in the weekly meeting.

She carried on with those losses each week and 13 months later had lost over five stones.

WeightWatchers group leader Sue Kirwan said: “Both of these members can celebrate their fantastic achievements by standing in the trousers they used to wear before they joined WeightWatchers. What a wonderful incentive to maintain their healthy weights. They continue to come to the weekly meetings, for free as they are gold members.”

WeightWatchers meetings are held at the John Godber Centre every Friday morning at 9.45 am. Call Sue on 07951 833861 for more information.
