Hucknall is preparing for its High Street Bonanza which is due to take place from 10am-4pm on Saturday 23rd August.

The event is being organised in partnership with Nottinghamshire County Council and Ashfield District Council by the I Love Hucknall team.

It will give residents the chance to experience lots of fun, family orientated events and shop along High Street without traffic being present.

The idea, as well as celebrating what the town has to offer, is to enable a ‘trial run’ of closing off the main route through the town centre to vehicles to emulate what will happen once the area is pedestrianised as part of the town centre regeration scheme.

There will be live music, craft stalls and many children’s activities including the opportunity to meet and pet animals from White Post Farm’s travelling roadshow.

“Come along and join us for this special event, have fun and support local businesses and get a feel for the forthcoming pedestrianised High Street,” said a spokesman.
