When a Hucknall man was served with a notice by a legal official, he attacked him, Nottingham Magistrates’ Court heard.

Aaron Cameron (29), of Trueman Drive, pleaded guilty to assaulting Lloyd Shaw on Wednesday 23rd July.

However, sentence has been delayed because the probation service want to compile an extensive report on the state of Cameron’s mental health.

“Probation officers believe there are issues they want to investigate,” Steve Burdon (defending) told the hearing..

“This was an assault on an officer of the court serving a notice on him. But at the time, Mr Cameron was under considerable distress, so probation officers want to carry out a mental-health assessment.

“Drink has also caused him problems in the past, and it is possible that he will require treatment for his use of alcohol.”

Magistrates agreed to Mr Burdon’s request for the case to be adjourned for six weeks. Cameron was granted unconditional bail.
