Warsop Inner Wheel member Gloria Humphrey came to speak to fellow members at the Hucknall Inner Wheel Club about the highs and lows of her voluntary work in Nottinghamshire Primary Schools.

Gloria and other volunteers are working with 9-11 year olds as part of Childline Schools Service Project.

The volunteers make two visits to a school and using specially produced work-books highlight the problems of abuse including cyber and internet bullying.

President Carolyn thanked Gloria and presented her with a cheque for £100 towards this project. Kim Challand proposed the purchase of an Education Box for use overseas in needy areas and this was unanimously accepted by the club.

This latest meeting follows a Barn Dance at Hucknall’s United Reform Church organised by the group which featured caller Marie Gee, accompanied by Uncle Bernard’s Band.

“A tasty supper of pie, chips and peas provided by Kirstine and her helpers was soon danced off and a raffle, games and silent auction raised £600,” said member, Kim Challand.

A chocolate hamper was donated by Thorntons and the lucky winners were Marie, Hannah and Amy Gee who are pictured here receiving their prize from President Carolyn Ward.
