Linby and Papplewick members of the Lapwings WI spent an enjoyable evening at Beauvale Priory in glorious weather last week. The group of 29 were given a guided tour and talk by Ann Whyte, showing the preservation work done by English Heritage and Ann and her husband. The group then enjoyed a delicious cream tea in the Priory tearooms.

Members have also been knitting and crocheting poppies to decorate the top cross in Linby for the 4th August commemoration of the First World War.

The next meetings for Lapwings WI are Tuesday August 12th 10 am - 12 noon and Thursday August 28th 7.30 - 9.30 pm, both at Papplewick Village Hall. New members are always welcome and anyone needing further information please contact Janet Stevenson 07807326517
