Firefighters say the region was largely incident-free during their strike action yesterday, Thursday 10th July.

Crews across Notts who were part of the Fire Brigade Union (FBU) joined the picket lines from 10am until 7pm as part of nationwide industrial action of the public sector over pay and pensions. It affected teachers, firefighters, civil servants and local government workers.

Nottinghamshire Firer Service received 47 calls to which contingency crews responded to 16.

These included grass and rubbish fires in Kirkby and Bulwell.
