Abbey Primary School children have been learning a new skill after the club set up a Ukulele after school Club.
The instruments were purchased through a grant from EMI Music Sound Foundation in late 2013.
The Foundation is dedicated to the improvement of music education with a focus on youth and supports schools to fund non statutory music education.
Alan Kirkland, music teacher at the school said: “The ukuleles provide us with an opportunity to show children that learning an instrument can be fun.
“Ukuleles are very popular at the moment as they allow children to learn fairly quickly and create a good sound.
“We hope to set up opportunities for the children to perform in the future.”
