Tackling anti-social behaviour and shoplifting is a current police priority in Bulwell discussed when Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner came to town.
Paddy Tipping toured the town centre and the Merchants Street area where shoplifting and anti-social behaviour have been a problem.
His visit coincided with Bulwell Action Week which brought together various community partners in a cumulative effort to clean up the town and tackle problem areas.
“The local policing team have been working hard in tackling crime such as shoplifting and anti-social behaviour which is part of targeted policing and partnership working together with the City Council,” said Mr Tipping. “I am hopeful that residents can expect to see improvements over the next few months.”
He was pleased to be joined by two local councillors, John Hartshorne and Jackie Morris, who is also the current Sheriff of Nottingham, Sgt Jon Straszewskyj and SCPO Phil Huworth.
The commissioner also announced investment plans to refurbish Bulwell Police Station which was welcomed by the station inspector, Christine Busuttil.
“We are aware of refurbishment plans for the future here at Bulwell but have not been informed yet as to what this will entail,” said Insp Busuttil.
