How well can you remember numbers? Most people can just about manage eight or maybe 10 digits of a phone number.

Students at the National Academy have been amazing their teachers with great feats of memory.

As part of numeracy week, the students entered a competition to memorise the mathematical number Pi (3.14159…) to as many decimal places as they could. The results were incredible, with the best in school, Katie Bell, memorising 100 digits!

The other winners (pictured from left)are: Alfie Willis (66 digits), Abbie Wells (54 digits ), Lisa Moyo (40 digits), Louis Tomlinson (40 digits), Mark Gerowski (33 digits) and a very impressed maths teacher Mr McDade.
