Police hunt driver in Hucknall hit-and-run

Police in Hucknall are appealing for witnesses after a woman was injured in a collision.

The incident happened in High Street, close to the junction with Duke Street, shortly after 1.20am on Sunday 16th March 2014 and involved a metallic grey saloon car that failed to stop and continued towards Watnall Road.

The collision followed an incident that had happened a short time earlier in Wollaton Street where the same victim was involved in an altercation with a man.

The driver of the saloon is described as being in his late 20s or early 30s, of stocky build with a bald or shaven head.

The victim, who is in her 20s, was carried along on the car’s bonnet.

She sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital but is now recovering at home.

The car may have sustained damage to the bonnet or doors.

Police would like to speak to a number of people who were in the area at the time of the incident, including several people who helped the victim.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information is asked to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence.
