READER LETTER: Bins aren't going to help

I've read about Ashfield District Council's reasons for introducing the new small bins and I can see the need to increase recycling efforts and for us all to be more green. This is important to ensure future generations don't have to pick up the pieces of global warming, but have the council shot themselves in the foot here by forcing these bins out when so many people are against them?

I work on one of the industrial estates down Wigwam Lane and we’re close to the recycling centre, but we, as well as the other business down there are plagued by fly-tipping as it is, and these smaller bins aren’t going to help matters.

Is the council going to keep paying for their workmen to come and clean up the mess that’s going to be left down here, which will cost more money in long run or will they admit they should have listened to their rate payers and never pushed the new bins out in the first place?
