Real ale shop opened by Hucknall brewery

The Hucknall-based Lincoln Green Brewing Company has opened a new brewery shop at its premises off Wigwam Lane.

The shop is located in the recently-expanded premises.

It offers bottle conditioned beers from the Lincoln Green core range of ales, together with rare and unusual guest beers from alla round the world.

There are also ‘Bag in box’ versions of the Lincoln Green beers available to order and collect in five and 10 litre (nine and 18 pints respectively) sizes.

These real ales are dispensed in a similar way to wine boxes.

Lincoln Green owner, Anthony Hughes, said: “Increasing our space at the brewery to assist with the growing demand for our beers, we’ve taken the opportunity to open a small brewery shop.

“Our core range is named with a respectful nod towards Nottinghamshire’s legendary hero and comprises Marion, a Pale Ale at 3.8 per cent, Hood, a Best Bitter at 4.2 per cent, Sherwood, an Extra Pale Ale at 4.4 per cent and Tuck, a smooth, dark, Porter at 4.7 per cent - we think there’s a beer style to suit every taste.

“As well as our own bottled beers, we want to offer customers the chance to try some guest beers that they won’t easily find in the area and this small range will be constantly changing to give people a reason to keep visiting us.

“Whilst we’re not located in a prime retail location, we are on the way to the household recycling centre which should make trips to the tip a little more enjoyable for many.”

Future plans for the shop include rare bottled versions of one-off brews from Lincoln Green and merchandise.

The shop is located at Unit E4, Enterprise Park, Wigwam Lane, Hucknall NG15 7SZ and opens Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm and Saturday 9am until 1pm.

Anthony is also the cowner of The Falcon Inn in Canning Circus, in city-centre Nottingham.

The venue has been refurbished in its original style as a cosy, traditional pub offering a welcoming atmosphere where people can meet up and socialise over a quiet drink.

There is a selection of eight quality real ales available to drinkers.
