A Papplewick teenager is hoping to take the Miss Nottingham crown at the beauty pageant final later this month.
It is the first time Sasha Perkins, 17, has entered a contest like this but is hoping to scoop the title which will see her gain entry to the Miss England competition.
“I was delighted to make it into the final 20 in my first contest,” said Sasha, who has the support from her family, friends and fellow dance students at Vibez Danceworks of Long Eaton.
“I’m really excited about it and can’t wait for the big day.”
Sasha is up against 19 other girls from across the county in the contest which takes place on Friday 21st March at 6.30pm at the De Vere Hotel, Beeston.
The girls will take part in three rounds which includes sportswear, eveningwear and an eco-outfit that they have to design and make out of recycled materials or charity shop clothing.
Sasha was spotted at Clothes Show live by contest scouts after spending several years modelling.
Now after getting through the audition stage she is in the final for the city title.
“I’ve loved taking part so far which has included having my photo taken, walking a catwalk and being interviewed by the organisers,” explained Sasha. “I’ve not done anything like this before but my dance performance background has certainly helped.”
Sasha is studying to be a dance teacher.
“I took part in the World Championships last year with Vibez who have been brilliant in supporting me.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the support from Claire Williamson and my fellow dancers as well as my family and hope the Dispatch readers will also vote for me to help me in the Miss Nottingham final.”
