Spencer lands Whips job in Government
New Prime Minster Theresa May has promoted Sherwood MP Mark Spencer with a role in the Whips Office.
Mr Spencer has previously been Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Leader of the House of Lords and the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
He said: “The role means I’ll be working directly with the Cabinet Office pushing the Government’s agenda forward in the house, and helping MPs get their concerns and questions answered. It’s an exciting opportunity.
“I will also have the chance to push forward our local objectives, and from that point of view obviously my office is here and my priorities will not change.”
