Hucknall’s John Godber Centre was the chosen venue for the popular Sports Quiz Night organised by various community partners.
The event took place at the Ogle Street centre on Friday 4th April and proved a popular evening with over 60 people attending.
“It was a very good night and was very well attended,” said Sheila Robinson, treasurer of the Hucknall Tourism and Regeneration Group who helped organise the event in conjunction with the Southwell Diocese.
“It is the second quiz night we have organised, the first was to raise money for Children in Need, and both have proved great fun even if you don’t know much about sport there are questions you can still answer.”
The quiz was presented on the night by Rob Taylor, Sports Ambassador for the Southwell Diocese, assisted by Revd Sergiy Diduk, Curate of St Mary Magdalene’s Church, and the tourism group.
Proceeds from the night’s activities, which also included a raffle, went to help support the 18th Nottingham (Hucknall) Boys Brigade.
“Just over £160 was collected and will be presented to the Boys Brigade which we decided upon as they are a Christian organisation who are always in need of extra support,” added Sheila. “The money will help contribute to any future trips or days out they have planned.”
The group hope to hold further quiz nights later in the year.
