Derbyshire PCC Alan Charles and the senior officer team from Derbyshire Constabulary will once again be taking questions via Twitter at the start of the monthly Strategic Governance Board (SGB) Meeting on Monday (27th January).

Derbyshire tweeters can ask questions via Twitter @DerbysPCC or @DerbysPolice or simply using #askSGB in their question.

The leading figures in Derbyshire policing will also take questions from members of the public attending the meeting. The question and answer session is a feature of every SGB meeting, lasting for up to 30-minutes at the beginning of the meeting.

The introduction of #askSGB is designed to enable more people to get involved with local policing and increase the accessibility of Derbyshire’s PCC and Constabulary.

Members of the public are also invited to submit questions that can be asked on their behalf at the meeting.

These should be submitted to the Chief Executive (David.Peet.16406@Derbyshire.PNN.Police.UK) by 5pm on the Friday preceding an SGB meeting. Although specific cases are not able to be discussed in the meeting, they are followed up by senior representatives from the Force.

Key items on the agenda for discussion include debate on the budget for 2014-15, Police Performance, and reports on the use of Stop and Search Powers, proposed changes to the Police and Crime Plan, Police Officers leaving the Constabulary and Hate Crime.

Monday’s meeting, which is open to the public, will be at Police HQ in Butterley Hall, Ripley, starting at 2pm.
