Tributes have been paid to two friends who were tragically killed in a car crash in Ravenshead on Sunday night.
Adam Smith (18) and Guy Bennett (19), both from Blidworth, died at the scene on Main Road when the Fiat Punto car they were travelling in together collided with a Transit Van.
Guy had been a student at West Notts College’s Kirkby campus, studying to be a plumber.
His Tutor, Grant Sissons, said: “Guy was a hard-working and conscientious student who showed a lot of commitment, passing his exams and progressing really well on his course.
“He looked destined for a bright future.
“Guy was fairly quiet in class but enjoyed having a laugh and a joke when the moment was right, coming out with hilarious one-liners that would have everyone crying with laughter.
“He had some really good friends at college and he was immensely popular amongst his fellow students and staff. This leaves a massive gap in his class.
“We are all in shock. We only saw him last Friday afternoon and it just has not sunk in yet.”
A worker at the Three Ways Petrol Station in Blidworth said both men often popped in for small items.
Describing Adam, he said: “He was just a normal cheeky lad, always happy and smiling. He used to come in for a Green Rockstar energy drink and sometimes fill up his car.
“People are just shocked about it - so many knew him and Guy as well.”
Since Sunday’s accident mourners have laid flowers at the crash site and left tributes on Facebook and Twitter.
Claire Copping said on Facebook: “I know the parents of one of these kids and my heart goes out to you both. God bless you.”
Nicola Quimby said: “God bless you lads. You were a top pair. Shine bright up there, brothers in arms.”
A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman said the driver of the van suffered minor injuries and an investigation was underway.
If you have any information contact police on 101.
