There is heavy congestion throughout the Sutton area this afternoon as the A38 is still closed following an earlier serious road traffic collision.
The road is still closed between Penny Emma Way and Orchard Way according to Nottinghamshire Police, as officers clean up the scene.
This has resulted in heavy traffic in the surrounding area as motorists follow diversions and seek an alternative route.
Traffic is stationary on Alfreton Road, on Huthwaite Road, on Station Road, on Lammas Road and Priestsic Road, on Mansfield Road and on High Pavement.
Delays of up to 30 minutes are being reported around central Sutton.
There are also queues on Common Road and Sutton Road in Huthwaite.
There are some problems on Lowmoor Road in Kirkby, with stationary and queuing traffic and the A611 Derby Road in Kirkby is also very slow either side of the Diamond Avenue junction and from Sherwood Business Park towards Annesley.
The M1 motorway is also looking congested northbound from before junction 27, with the area around junction 28 for the A38 at a standstill.
