Rounders may bring back distant memories of school PE lessons but the sport is not just for children.

Weekly games for adults are coming to Oak Tree Leisure Centre, Jubilee Way South, Mansfield, from 6pm to 7.30pm every Tuesday from 22nd July.

Men and women aged 16 and over and small groups of sports team members, friends or work colleagues are all welcome at the fun, relaxed and informal games. No experience is necessary and the cost is just £2 per week.

Coun Philip Shields, Portfolio Holder for the Environment at Mansfield District Council, said: “Whether you can reach 1st post or 4th post, rounders is good exercise, can improve your skill and is a good way to make friends. If it’s been years since you played or even if you’ve never played before these low-cost sessions are perfect for everyone.”

Mansfield District Council and Mansfield District Leisure Trust are working in partnership to run the sessions, thanks to funding from Rounders England.
