Hucknall’s Welbeck Community Association (WCA) were at the May Fair hosted by the Children’s Centre, Broomhill Junior and Butler’s Hill schools.
The WCA continued their children’s Grow the Biggest Sunflower Competition which started on Good Friday and with a final number of 65 entries, is now
looking forward to judging the winner, which will take place around about the end of August–mid September.
“There will be a prize and a trophy for the lucky winner provided by Coun David Shaw, so keep them growing and keep checking for the date,” said WCA chairman Dennis Mayoh.
“A raffle was also held, with prizes kindly donated by local businesses, with a game of skill for the children to participate in, all of which helped the WCA to raise funds for future community events.
“It was a glorious day, blessed with good weather and lots of activities for everyone to enjoy and get involved with.
We are looking forward to future events with much enthusiasm!”
