Well-known writer inspires school children

Illustrator and author Nick Sharratt is pictured here during a visit to Bilsthorpe’s Crompton View Primary School to inspire the pupils.

Nick, who went to Mansfield’s Joseph Whitaker School has written 40 books and illustrated almost 250.

During the visit he delivered classes and an assembly much to the delight of pupils and staff.

Pupil Holly Laycock said: “It has been really amazing to meet him - I never thought I would meet someone really famous, especially him because I like his illustrations.

“They are so lively and show off the characters in the book. His illustrations help to make you understand the stories better.”
