Worksop man faces arson charge
A Worksop man has been charged with arson after he allegedly set fire to his friend's front door.
Duane Dyer, 35, currently of Widsmore Avenue, Grays, Essex, did not enter a plea to the charge of arson with intent to endanger life when he appeared before magistrates in Mansfield on Monday.
The arson attack was alleged to have happened at an address on Ely Road in Worksop on the evening of Saturday, June 25.
David Grant, defending, said the claim was fabricated and Mr Dyer was not involved with the fire.
Mr Dyer was remanded in custody until July 25, when he will appear at Nottingham Crown Court.
