THE POPULAR Pilgrim Oak pub in Hucknall has re-opened after a £120,000 makeover.
The High Street venue, which is owned by JD Wetherspoon, was closed for six days while builders and decorators spruce up the building.
A complete redecoration has taken place, with new sofas added and existing furniture re-upholstered.
Fresh light-fittings complement a new carpet that has already been installed. Toilets have also been completely refitted.
Pub manager Peter Sverdloff said: “We are looking forward to welcoming our customers back into the Pilgrim Oak, and we are confident that they will be impressed by the new-look pub.”
The facelift for the Pilgrim comes hot on the heels of Wetherspoon’s spending £1.3 million in Bulwell to open the William Peverel pub, which has transformed an eyesore building on Main Street that was formerly a Wilkinson store.
