Man remanded in hit-and-run case

A MAN who was arrested in Linby on suspicion of being involved in a hit-and-run crash that injured a female volunteer police officer has appeared in court.

Lee Ashton (24), of Mosswood Crescent, Bestwood Estate, has been charged with wounding, burglary and theft after special constable Carly Henfrey was hit by a Peugeot in Nottingham City Centre on Sunday November 13. Ashton has yet to enter pleas and after appearing at Nottingham Crown Court, he was remanded in custody until Wednesday February 29.
