A factory in Forest Town has been given the green light to expand and help create almost 30 new jobs.
Nitto Denko UK Ltd on Crown Farm Industrial Estate is a mould rubber and plastics manufacturer, and applied to extend the current factory onto a section of land earmarked for industrial development.
Opened in 1998, it specialises in converting materials for vehicles.
At present there are 21 offiice staff and factory workers, with hopes that the extension will allow the firm to raise that to 120 in total.
The company’s existing car park will be expanded with an additional 27 spaces to cope with the extra workers.
A spokesman on behalf of the firm said: “The council has invested heavily in the Crown Farm area andthis is why my clients wish to continue in this investment. The development will provide further jobs which are greatly needed in the Mansfield area.”
Planning officers at Mansfield District Council had recommeded that the application be approved, before the planning voted in favour of granting planning permission during their recent monthly meeting.
Ward councillor Denise Moody said: “I am very pleased that Nitto Denko UK have been given planning permission for the extension of their factory, the creation of 30 much-needed jobs in the area can only be considered as good news in the current economic situation.”
