A DOG show held annually in memory of a police dog handler who was killed in Bulwell is to be staged for the ninth time.
The Ged Walker event will be staged at West Park, Long Eaton, a week on Sunday (August 5).
Pc Walker was killed when he tried to stop a stolen taxi which hit a traffic bollard on St Albans Road, Bulwell, on January 7 2003.
The show will primarily raise money for Pc Walker’s family.
But cash will also be in aid of the families of two Royal Army Veterinary Corps soldiers killed in Afghanistan. Part of the proceeds will also be in aid of Help For Heroes, the charity which helps British service personnel wounded in conflicts.
Entrants are wanted for a range of pedigree classes, as well as for obedience classes and agility tests. It costs £1 to enter a dog.
