Werewolves, vampires and ghouls gathered for a spooky Halloween party at Bestwood Social Club raising over £400 for future events at the venue.
Organiser Karen Peacock said: “It was absolutely fantastic - everyone made a huge effort to dress up. We had everyone from Dracula to Frankenstein to Freddy Krueger.”
Around 200 people attended the event which saw the hall’s stage decorated like a cave with cobwebs, spiders and bats.
The dance floor was filled with party games like musical statues to the strains of Thriller by Michael Jackson.
A competition for best costume was run with £10 cash prizes and the stage was decorated like a cave with cobwebs, spiders and bats.
The money raised will pay for a Winter Wonderland event which has been pencilled in for 7th December.
“The volunteers were fantastic: Gary and Sue James, Simon and Kev Perkins, and Vaughn Jackson,” added Sue.
“Connor Perkins and Jacob Bamford, both 17 and studying for their A-levels at Holgate Academy, dressed up and jumped out at people!”
