TEACHING stalwart GAIL BROWN has reached the impressive milestone of 25 years’ service at Hucknall’s Leen Mills Primary School.

It was in 1987 that Gail started at the Leen Mills Lane school as a full-time teacher.

She has balanced her career alongside her family and has two children, Phoebe (19) and Dominic (17).

“This is a special silver anniversary that has been marked by the school,” said head teacher John White.

“Since 2006, Gail has become the music specialist at Leen Mills. She has raised the musical profile considerably since she took on this role, running a 60-strong choir after school, a recorder class and a 20-strong boys’ vocal group at lunchtimes.

“All this as well as her legendary Year-6 summer productions.”

Mr White added: “In her many guises Gail has been a wonderful asset to Leen Mills over the last 25 years and in that time she has helped to improve the life chances of thousands of Hucknall children.”
